Hey! I’m Nettie, I just turned 18, and I’m from Tallinn, Estonia. You probably haven’t heard much about my country, but it’s actually really beautiful — lots of forests, islands, and really cold winters. I live in the Tallinn city center, but my favorite place is my grandma’s old wooden house in the countryside near Lahemaa National Park. Right now, I just finished high school (finally!) and I work part-time in a little second-hand bookstore in the Old Town. I’m super into vinyl records, old European cinema, and drinking way too much tea. I’d describe myself as a bit introverted at first, but once I trust you, I talk non-stop about random things like Soviet architecture or why the ocean at night looks like another planet.

Honestly? Rainy days when the sky turns this deep grey and the whole city smells like wet cobblestones and pine trees. I love walking through Kadriorg Park with my headphones on, listening to Mazzy Star or some obscure Estonian indie band. I also love thrifting — finding a weird 90s sweater or a broken necklace that still has a story. Baking is a big thing for me too.

I really don’t like loud, crowded places where you can’t hear yourself think — like shopping malls on a Saturday. No, thank you. Also, people who pretend to be your friend but then talk behind your back. We’re 18, not 12, come on. I hate when the snow turns into brown slush on the streets — it makes the whole city look sad. And honestly? Small talk about the weather.
